I am a longstanding professional landscape artist living in the beautiful Northumbrian countryside, 57 years old, married with three children. We live in one of the most beautiful areas of countryside in England. This, in time, has influenced me enormously. We live and die with nature around us. I am privileged in trying to capture the majesty, mood, and magnificence of what we are part of - the landscape.
Mainly I paint on large canvasses, acrylic being my medium of choice. Galleries where I exhibit describe my style as contemporary to surrealist. Working large gives me the opportunity to capture the vast expanse of sky and landscape. The skies above are echoed in the landscape below; using light, line, and colour I achieve a harmony between the elements.

I have few preconceived influences - I do not use photographs, images or drawings - I paint what I feel. Galleries who exhibit my work prefer this style.
My hobbies and interests reinforce this. I am a seriously keen off-road mountain biker from the Pyrenees to Scotland. I power-kite on beaches and canoe rivers. I walk the local countryside observing wildlife.
